Mimi is my first cat and I got her from an adoption day of a local shelter. I got her at 7 weeks old and she has never left my side. She's my shadow and sleeps with me every night. She was the one wildly reaching out to me from her cage so I had to take her home. I wanted a cat with personality and I got it in spades.
She is very skittish and doesn't like strangers but she is very sweet to the humans she knows. She is not a lap cat, but she is my shadow, always at my feet, even when I go to the bathroom. If I close the door, she will wait outside. When I get home, she waits at the door and always wants her belly rubbed as soon as I come through the door.
She is never allowed to eat human food except every morning, she has a dab of peanut butter. Mimi loves to perch in high places, including atop doors and on top of cabinets and bookcases. She also loves bags and boxes.
This past year, she was diagnosed with an IBS type of condition and was in the hospital for three days. She's been home now for seven months and is doing well. I am always watching her though because she could easily relapse. She recovered by taking seven different meds every day for a month.
She doesn't really know any tricks but she does love to have her belly rubbed and she knows the sound of the TV turning off means it's bed time.
