We
didn't plan on getting a cat ... we already have three uromastyx lizards and
one pink Bourke Parakeet ... but there she was in the pet store so cute, soft
and cuddly with eyes begging us to take her home! I usually would never buy a
cat from a pet store, but this one sells rescues - she was from a litter of
barn cats. She already had her shots and was fixed and ready to go home. I
just couldn't leave her there!
Nami is such a cute, crazy, fun loving kitty full of life and personality! My
kids named her Nami after a Japanese cartoon but I thought it suited her
because sometimes she really is a little Tsunami in our house!! She is
actually very small ... maybe eight pounds (3.5kg) of fur but has a personality of a tiger.
She really is a little huntress and loves to chase my son and daughter around
like prey ... sneak attacking them around corners or doors. Nami chases
anything that moves .... haven't seen a spider in our house since she came!
Even when we give her cat treats she wants us to throw it and let it slide
across the floor so she can run and chase it and slap it with her paw before eating it.
Nami is not really a lap cat but always has to be in the same room with you
... usually sleeping in some weird uncatlike position as you can see from her
photos. Nami also faithfully welcomes us all at the door when we come home
and lets us hug and cuddle her each time. Nami has only been with us ten
months but we couldn't imagine life with out her! She is definitely family
and loved by all!
