Orwell
is a very loving, sweet cat, with quite a passion for his favorite
food - cheese. Since he began eating solid foods, Orwell could sniff out even
the tiniest crumb of cheese from five miles away. Whenever my husband and I
cook anything with cheese in the dish, Orwell will bounce excitedly and meow
as loudly as he can until he gets a piece. He also has a favorite cheese -
Baby Swiss! - and will go particularly bonkers until he gets a slice. Orwell
knows no strangers, especially if they are carrying a piece of Gouda in their pocket.
Orwell is very affectionate and loves attention from everyone. He is also
incredibly stubborn and only does what he wants, making his demands known by
'talking' to anyone within earshot. Orwell does not have any particular
tricks - other than posing for the camera, of course - but he does enjoy a
good bug chase and can jump really high in order to catch them midair. He
also enjoys running across the top of our roof like a herd of elephants every
night, then peeking in the window to see if we are paying attention. Orwell
is also very, very intelligent, which is part of the reason why his name is
Orwell. We live in the country and Orwell has the run of pretty much our land
and our friends' land, making his rounds to their place (to get cheese, of
course) and following my husband everywhere he goes.
Overall, he is just a really sweet, albeit stubborn, cat with a huge
personality that likes to shine.
