My cat Monsieur Pantalons was around age 12 in this picture, but has since passed away at age 18. Mssr. Pantalone was an amazing cat, revered in all of the cities (Los Angeles, Davis) California where he lived with me his whole life. He was brilliant, cuddly (he'd be a little spoon), friendly, charming, dapper, discerning, and had the most beautiful girlfriend when we lived in Davis who was his twin except she was a calico with a white belly/paws, same level of fluff. He was beloved by all who knew him and when he passed a few years ago, the memorials poured out on Facebook.
Not only would he come whenever I called him (sometimes from half a mile away), but he was so good about sleeping in a sweatshirt in my car inside the garage so he'd stay out of trouble when we lived with my parents who wouldn't let him inside. He was a noble and skilled hunter, often bringing gifts of hummingbirds and small animals at least once a week. It was very sad but he was too proud for me to discourage him. He spent most of his later years lounging around or sleeping in catnip in the sun and in my bed. Also, he spent at least three of his nine lives during our time together because when I went away to college, my mom didn't keep track of him and he almost died of an abscess from a fight while I was gone! I've had a few cats and known many and he was, by far, the best possible cat ever.
