This is my little Caesar, also known as Sneezer, Cheeser, The Cheese, Cheeseball, Cheeseburger, Chi-Chi or Mr. Particular. He is named after Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. What Caesar wants, Caesar gets, but he is such a good boy I can't even say he's spoiled… he deserves it. I rescued him as a kitten from the pound on a whim on random Saturday afternoon. At first he wasn't moving and I didn't think he was well so I kept looking at others. On my next trip around the room I felt a teeny little swat and heard a teeny little sneeze, then more swats and more sneezes – he was sick but wanted me to know he was there. It was love at first sight. I asked if I could hold him and he just spread out in my hands purring and craving love – while sneezing.
I had never had a cat before him and wasn't prepared to take him home, but I just knew we belonged together. No one else was giving the little dude a chance, but I wanted to do everything I could to try. After a few trips to the vet, and few different prescriptions and some long nights in the bathroom with the hot shower on for some steam, he overcame his severe cold and got better. He grew into a beautiful strong beast with a teeny meow. He turned out to be the best cat ever, so well behaved, so friendly, so playful, a great hunter, and has never known the cruelness that is out in the world, only love. I've never even seen him hiss. He's just a nice boy. He can be shy around strangers, because he's mainly used to mom, but he will warm up to you if you show him love and give him treats.
It's now fourteen years later ... he's a little more lazy and skinny than he once was, but he's still the prince, still a good boy, still loves to play and he's still knows nothing of cruelty, only love. I'm down right in love with him. The best part of my day is hearing his teeny meows on the other side of the door when I come home from work and then sharing hugs and kisses. He is my forever baby, my comfort and my heart.
