I
adopted Garza from the Humane Society of Tampa, Florida almost two years
ago, when he was about two months old. I'm not too sure, but I think he's
part American Shorthair. A plain 'ol grey tabby cat. At the time, I was
volunteering at the shelter and visited him in the meet and greet cat room;
I had my eye on him from the first time we met. Finally the day came when I
got to bring him home with me. The car ride from the shelter to my
apartment was definitely an adventure. A cardboard carrying case was given
to us to transport him, but after about five minutes in the box in the
backseat, he managed to escape. So, while driving down the highway, there
was itty bitty Garza looking out the back window, mewing all the way home.
He also came home with an upper respiratory infection, making his first few
days in his new home pretty...sticky. Garza's sneezes had the potential of
flinging kitty snot halfway across the room. Thankfully we got that cleaer
up quickly! Nowadays his favorite hobbies are eating, stealing things and
hiding them under my bed, sleeping and sitting on my chest while I try to
sleep. Anywho, Garza has grown into quite a handsome man cat, and he's my
best friend for sure (even if he his a trouble maker).
