This
is Sooty, but we all call him Sooba. It's a nickname left over from
childhood, and he is about 14 1/2 years old! We have had him from when he was
a kitten, and I can't imagine being without him. He loves people, and always
wants to be around them, preferably receiving some form of attention. He'll
follow anyone in the house around like a faithful shadow. If I talk to him,
he'll meow back at me ... and we could go back and forth for days. My sister
once heard us talking to each other in our sleep. He's a lap kitty, and it's
so nice at the end of a hard day to snuggle up with this guy. He loves to
snuggle, and even the most cloying attention he'll find satisfying (he loves
being held like a baby). At night, he wants to be as close as possible,
usually meaning you'll wake up with him on your face purring. He lives with a
St. Bernard (Bo), a boxer, and a toy poodle (Chip), and is fond of them. He
is physically unable to stay out of boxes and bags, though he's relatively
uninterested in typical cat toys. Also, when he's not shadowing people in the
house, he sits on the hot water heater.
He is such a sweet cat, and will purr just from you talking to him. When he
gets really excited and is really close to your face, he'll try to "love"
bite your nose. There are so many reasons he's my soulmate! We love him!
