This
is Mickey. He appeared one day crying on our patio when he was about three
months old. Because he was a stray, we do not for sure how old he was. We
felt sorry for him. At first we thought he was a girl. After giving her a
little milk, she slurped it up and had such a messy little white mouth I
jokingly called her milky mouth. We tried to find a home for her, but I was
falling in love with this little charmer. After a week or two outdoors and a
heat wave coming I decided to take her in... she loved the air-conditioning
and soft places to sleep. A few weeks later we took her to New Leash on Life
to get fixed... it was then we found out she was actually a male.
We came up with Mickey Mouse as a name since it sounded a bit like Milky
Mouth. Now we call him little Mickey or the Mixter. He calms me and sleeps on
our bed at night. We tried bringing home a sibling for him... but Mickey
turned nasty and we returned the kitten. It was a sad day but we didn't want
to lose that closeness we had with Mickey, and he had been happy before we
got the kitten. We are so glad he came into our lives.
