Maude
loves chasing butterflies, playing fetch and 'smurgling' on her fleece.
Smurgling is a breed trait where she kneads with her paws while purring and
dribbling into the fabric! She adores being brushed but still has that
kitten-like tendency to bite the brush halfway through.
She is extremely loyal and loves nothing more than to follow us round the
entire time. Wherever you go, she goes! Everybody loves Maude. She spends a
lot of her time growling and running around after flies or moths. She
absolutely loves plastic carrier bags (not good for suffocation) and will
jump in them and sit in them for hours. We have to make sure the handles are
broken so she can't get anything caught around her neck and that there is an
opening on both ends in case she gets stuck! But anything plastic or bubble
wrap, she loves! Madness.
She is a very clingy little thing and will follow me everywhere. She has her
eyes on me all the time in the house and will even wait outside the toilet
door for me! She could be fast asleep but if I get up and leave the room, she
will drag herself along too and then sit and wait for me. So sweet but
sometimes I wish she would just relax! I'm hoping she'll be more independent
soon because we are at work full-time now so don't get that long to spend
with her which breaks my heart as she loves company. Luckily my mum lives
opposite and pops in to see her too.
She likes running water and will sit in the sink and miaow at the tap until
you put it on and then have a quick lick before getting bored. And when we
first had her, she chased a sparrow right to the very highest point on the
roof which is ridiculously high as it's a chalet-style house. Everyone in the
street came out to look as there was this tiny kitten on top of a three-story
house! It was the first time in twenty years it had ever happened in the area!
She hasn't done it since ...
