I
have always found Maine Coons to be such beautiful and exotic looking
animals. I've had a Jack Russell growing up and when I moved out of my
house unfortunately, she was not allowed to come with me. She is still
alive and well and lives with my sister, so I see her on daily. As you can
imagine, going from a Jack Russell to no animal got very lonely and very
quiet very fast - I needed an animal in my house to fill the void.
I found this beautiful little boy at a local rescue and absolutely refused
to leave the place without him. So What's his story? Gus is actually a
pure bread Maine Coon, he came from registered breeders who are well known
and very famous for their champion show cats. The neighbours noticed some
things that were off with the cats, after calling animal control several
cats were rescued. The living conditions that all these beautiful animals
were living in was completely unbearable, disgusting and unimaginable. My
little Gus and his brother were away from the rest, in a shed in the
basement left to perish (for reasons unknown).
Gus was only seven weeks old, luckily he was young enough to not have any
serious health problems and his coat was quickly refurbished back to that
beautiful long haired tabby coloured coat that makes Maine Coons so
beautiful and unique.
He had no trouble getting used to people and became the most cuddly, most
affectionate cat that you could possibly dream of. He is afraid to be
alone, he always needs to be close to someone or rubbing his beautiful
little head up your leg, and never fails to give you rough kisses at any
opportunity. He loves to play with laser lights, chases flies and
squirrels out the window, and enjoys cuddling and playing with our other
two cats Archie and Sophie.
I don't know where his owners are and I don't care, but I do hope that
somewhere they can read this because I would just like to say THANK YOU!
Thank you for giving me my best friend and filling a void in my life that
I didn't even know I had. I guess it's true what they say,Somebody's trash
is Someone elses treasure.
I couldn't be happier having this beautiful, loving, caring animal in my
life and can't imagine my life without him. Thank you Gus for being you!
