Stanley
was born with a crooked tail. It wasn't smashed by a door or
stepped on or anything, he and his litter-mates' tails were tied
somehow in the womb. He was given to me by a friend in sixth grade
because they couldn't afford to keep them. The first night I took Stan
home, he slept in my bed and didn't leave my side. When school was
around, he became more attached to my dad due to the fact that he was
home during the day. We did get him neutered (sadly) when he was old
enough. Even after, he was still a great hunter. He's brought us full
grown rabbits, squirrels, and bring in field mice. We have never found
on mouse in our home. If I don't get up in the morning, Stanley jumps
on my bed and meows until I am awake!
I had a Veterinary Class and we needed pets to check and practice
Vital Signs. Well, little did I know he had to stay with me all day.
He was super quiet at school, he didn't meow or anything. During
English class I sat in the hall and read a book to him while he was
laying on my lap (causing no disturbance). He didn't mind being around
others, in fact, my computer teacher let Stanley roam the classroom.
He didn't chew on wires, he let people pet him and all.
Also that day, I walked downtown to a local McDonald's. I sat outside
with Stan and he curled up next to me because it was so cold out. I
did have him wrapped in a blanket and all. Even at school, I could let
him out of his cage and he would walk next to me with no problems.
Overall, Stanley is a loving and kind-hearted creature and is very attached to me.
