Well, when I went to the shelter I wasn't really looking for a cat I was just wondering if I was still ready to see cats because about 4 months or so prior the day before my high school graduation I lost my previous cat Famcy to stomach cancer. So this was just to look around to get my feet wet for the possibilty of having another cat.
I was enjoying myself and then a lot of the volunteers were recommendedig Pirate to me, a cat that was clearly loved by everyone who worked there. I said sure to seeing him, and I saw that he was HUGE but once he sat on my lap, he looked at me, nudged me, and just started purring. I fell in love and took him in.
Everyone who worked there started crying but were so happy that I ado[ted him. Three years later he's just turned five on the 31st of October, and It's been a journey. To moving, to realizing he has anxiety, to the great play times, to all the running around he does being scared of everything, to and him just sleeping next to my pillow as I listen to records on rainy days. I don't ever want exchange these moments, I just want to keep having them.
