Following the death of my beloved Felix, I started looking for another cat. I searched humane societies and No-kill shelters. I saw the picture of Katrina and the look in her eyes said come and get me. I found out she had been in the shelter for five years. I went to see her, but she had a resigned look that said, "You probably don't want me, I am seven years old. Everyone wants kittens." I fell in love and wanted to bring her to her furever home.
After investigations by the shelter, she came home. She was shy, but came to me when I called her name. Each day has brought her out of her shell and she does something new. She saw her reflection in the glass doors of my entertainment center and learned how to open the doors, but when she looked behind them for the cat, it wasn't there. It's so funny, she does this several times a day. She has progressed to sitting on my lap for a nap. She loves the cat condo and for a seven-year-old is quite agile. So far she has not made friends with Jessie, my 12-year-old cat, but they tolerate each other.
