Squeaker Kane is my dear fluffy kitty, living in Sahuarita, Arizona.
"Free Kittens" the ad in the newspaper read. So, lonely in my first apartment, I called to inquire about the kittens. I wanted an orange one. When I arrived at the dilapidated trailer I was told that all of the kittens were dead, except one. After seeing the deplorable conditions I was going to take any cats the woman had, but only one had survived. This unnamed, unknown gender, tiny fluff ball was tossed into my hands and I left as fast as I could. I rushed straight to the vet and after being told the kitten was a girl and given a clean bill of health and all necessary shots (too young for spaying) we drove home. She "squeaked" the entire time, jumping from the front headrest to the back seat over and over again.
This was the beginning of the best relationship I have ever had with an animal. I know what every squeak means; the "I want dinner" squeak, the "it's time for bed" squeak, but the best one is the "I love you, now let me outside" squeak. Squeaker loves her supervised trips into the back yard. She loves nibbling the only grass in a half-mile radius. She rolls in the dirt on the patio, soaking in all the warm Arizona sun. She hides in the back bushes, instantly turning into a jungle cat.
Squeaker is a wonderful cat who, despite her rough beginning, shows endless amounts of love.
