Horgan was a rescue kitty from a divorce where neither person could take their pet to their respective new living situations. I found out about him from a friend who was fostering him until he got a new home so I don't know how old he is. The vet thinks he is about three years old now. I have had him for a year and half. He is a Maine Coon and he is, by far, the most interesting of any of the cats I have had in my 50 years of life. He has an agenda of his own! As pet owner I have learned his commands for "more food now, I can see the bottom of my food bowl, for crying out loud!" or " I am bored, I want to go out, NOW!"
But his most consistent demand is for water any time you enter any bathroom in the house. If you are next to a tub turn on the faucet! Next to the sink, in the bowl he goes and then he stares at the faucet and "talks" until you turn on the water. But his most favorite is the bidet. He will drink from the bidet for up to 15 minutes at a setting. I will leave him watering at the bidet and go about my business. He invariably will come find me wherever I am to give me a single short meow telling me his is done and I can go turn off the water now. Water bowls? Oh - those are for pushing around until all the water is sloshed out. Gotta love him!
