Tigger is special for so many reasons. He was adopted from a local animal rescue a year ago. He had been sick for three months and his previous owners didn't want the vet bills. They also said he had gotten too big and they didn't want him anymore.
He is the sunshine of our day waiting outside the bedroom door every morning, following us into the bathroom and splitting his time between me and my husband during our morning ritual. He is there when we get home and provides us with all the affection he can deliver. He is our constant companion and the stabilizing factor for our other cat.
We had adopted another cat, Max, one year before. He had been abused and dumped unceremoniously outside the pound. He spent most of his day stalking us and attacking people. He was unaffectionate and withdrawn. Without Tigger we wouldn't have survived it. Since Tigger arrived, Max has become a normal, loving cat. They are soul mates and have in essence saved each other from a horrible fate. Together they could take on the world and win over everyone in their path. We don't know what we would have done without him.
