Basil has absolutely no idea that he is not a person!! He is more like a housemate than a pet and has a wonderful vocabulary which he uses frequently to get attention, get noticed, be fussed over, etc. He is a peace loving animal and has no interest in catching anything living, a nice lie down is highly preferable to running after anything his delicate palette would class as "inedible." He resides in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, and shares his home with us, his family.
There is, however, one activity that floats his boat, which is chasing after rubbish!! He is extremely partial to crisp packets, carrier bags and anything plastic and crinkly and after much thought we have decided that in his former life he must have been a refuse collector.
Basil is to be put forward as Cat of the Day as he deserves a crown to wear on his favorite seat (or throne....?!) as his favourite place to have a nap is on top of the toilet seat!
