Scarlett
was born December 18. I adopted this lovely girl from the ICS
whom have every right to be celebrated. The ICS stands for
"Independent Cat Society."
They are a non-kill shelter and often seek donations for
their slew of kittens and cats. Many of my warm, younger, memories
involved going to the ICS with my mother and visiting the cats in each
room. I remember my favorite cats were Grandma and Grandpa; they were
old, hence the name. Sadly they died, after fifteen years on the
earth, but I always remember the lovely memories from the ICS and the
anticipation that stemmed from it. When I was nine years old, my
family had to move. Being the very nostalgic person I am, I dreaded
the final move.
My mother agreed to adopt the two lively orange cats, Scarlett and
Rhett. I remember they were sick when I first got to see them. They
had a serious flu and needed to get better. For weeks I would visit
them and watch the two seven-month-old kittens play between the iron bars
of their cages. Finally, it was time to adopt them. Scarlett and Rhett
were officially my loving companions that I cherish today for every
reason. Scarlett, the orange marbled tabby and her brother Rhett, were
on the way to becoming my life time friends. Scarlett is calm,
sometimes sassy but always will find a lap to sleep on. She is not
just beautiful, she is dearly loved. I love you, Scarly. <3 <3
