On August 14, 2017 we lost our beloved Zonker kitty to lymphoma. I told my wife that my heart ached too much to adopt another cat so soon after his loss and we agreed that we would wait for the Universe to send us a message. Eight weeks later I got a call from a former coworker that two six-month-old brothers she was fostering were in desperate need of an immediate loving home. She was their third foster mother and they had been with her for six weeks and the agency was looking to move them again. We agreed to come look them over and see if we would be a good fit together.
Upon arrival at her home they climbed up on us, purred and started washing us. It was love at first sight for all four of us. The adoption agent told us that they were born on Saint Patrick's Day 2017, under a porch and part of a feral litter of five. Mom and the kittens were rescued and ultimately all found homes. She also mentioned that their birth place was in the shadow of Nebraska's nuclear power plant - which may explain a lot!
Hobbes is very muscular, hyperactive, and vocal, like a Siamese. Calvin is more laid back and loves watching nature shows on TV. Both enjoy being outside and are getting used to being on a leash. We are so glad that we they are in our lives.
