We adopted Lily four years ago from the Humane Society. When we brought her home, she was so happy that she walked around the living room and purred loudly, as if she were saying, "I'm finally home!"
Lily is a very vocal kitty, and answers with a variety of little "chirps" and "meows" when I talk to her. She especially gets excited when I sing! Lily often forgets she's a cat, and reacts to people with the welcoming affection of a Labrador Retriever. When I cook she sits by my feet and stretches up on her back legs as far as she can, hoping for a treat.
Lily is loyal and devoted to me, and is never far from my side. When I'm studying at my desk, she lays on my law books and stretches a paw out towards me as a reminder it's time to pay attention to her. My return home from work each day is an occasion for celebration as she gallops down the hall to greet me, meowing the whole way! Lily has truly become a member of the family; our house would seem very quiet without this sweet-natured cat!
